Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Theophile Alexandre Steinlen’ after an anonymous artist. Theophile Alexandre Steinlen (1859-1923) was a Swiss/French genre / satire painter, etcher, lithographer and sculptor from Lausanne. He went to Paris when he was 29 and was active and famous as a designer for humoristic magazines.
