Medium: Mezzotint engraving on Hand laid (verge) paper.

Condition: very good, given age. Light foxing and edge wear. Excellent tonal range and strong impression. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: James McArdell (ca. 1729-1765), Irish mezzotint engraver active in London; renowned for his reproductive engravings after Old Masters and contemporary painters, praised by Joshua Reynolds.

Biography artist: Jean-Etienne Liotard (1702?1789) was a Swiss painter and printmaker known for his refined pastel portraits and detailed costume depictions. He worked extensively across Europe and was highly regarded in England and France.
