Original master print, titled: ‘Gingerbread’. It shows a mother and three children with a dog, buying gingerbread from a street-vendor.
Made by Thomas Gooch Appleton after Francis Wheatley.
Medium: Mezzotint engraving, a-la-poupee coloured on chine collee, mounted on wove paper paper.
Sheet size: 43.5 x 53 cm (17.13 x 20.87 inch). Image size: 33.5 x 42.5 cm. (13.19 x 16.73 inch).
Condition: very good, given age. Margins quite foxed, a flattened crease in the bottom margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
