Medium: Aquatint etching with hand colouring on wove (vellin) paper. Watermark: J. Whatman Turkey Mill.

Sheet size: 32.5 x 23.1 cm (12.8 x 9.09 inch). Image size: 28.9 x 19.5 cm. (11.38 x 7.68 inch).

Condition: good, given age. Light creasing, foxing and soiling. Paper edges with some small tears. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography artist: David Cox (1783-1859) was a major English landscape painter and watercolorist of the Romantic period, known for fresh, expressive handling of rural scenery. He often painted in Wales and the English countryside, especially around Sussex and Birmingham.
