Made by Stefano della Bella after own design.

Medium: Etching on handlaid (verge) paper.

Sheet size: 7 x 9 cm (2.76 x 3.54 inch). Image size: 6.7 x 8.7 cm. (2.64 x 3.43 inch).

Condition: good, given age. Wrinkles. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.



This attractive print was published by Isra?l Henriet, on behalf of the French crown, Paris 1650.

Reference: De Vesme (Della Bella); Jombert (Della Bella).

Biography engraver: Stefano della Bella (1610-1664) was an Italian draughtsman and printmaker known for etchings of a great variety of subjects, including military and court scenes, landscapes, and lively genre scenes. He left 1052 prints, and several thousand drawings, but only one known painting. He was born and later died in Florence, Italy.
