BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Source: unknown, to be determined.
Biography engraver: Karel Dujardin (1622-1678) was a Dutch Golden Age painter and etcher. He spent two extensive periods in Italy, and his work is heavily influenced by this. Most of his paintings and landscapes have an Italianate setting. He was supposedly trained by Nicolaes Berchem, before going to Italy where he joined the Bentvueghels group.
