This print shows a view on a peasant sitting on a donkey playing flute. A woman on horseback, a standing wife and cows, sheep and a dog are waiting to cross the river by ferry.

Medium: Etching / engraving on handlaid / verge paper. Watermark: Amsterdam coat of arms.
Sheet size: 30.6 x 23.5 cm (12.05 x 9.25 inch). Image size: 24.5 x 18 cm. (9.65 x 7.09 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Remains of paper tape in corners on reverse. Creases in lower margin. Brown stain in lower left margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: Johannes Visscher (1633-na 1692), was a Dutch engraver and etcher and brother from Cornelis and Lambert Visscher. .
Biography artist: Nicolaas Pietersz. Berchem, (Haarlem, 1622 – Amsterdam, 18 februari 1683) was a Dutch painter, draftsman, and etcher. He is best known for his pastoral Mediterranean landscapes.
