BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Printed in Paris by Crepy; after a design by Pillement, engraved and signed by Jeanne Deny in 1770.

Biography engraver: Jeanne Deny (1749-1836) was a French engraver known for her work after Pillement and others. Active in Paris from 1770 to 1815. Her refined plates were highly sought after.
Biography artist: Jean-Baptiste Pillement (1728-1808) was a prolific French painter and designer whose decorative landscapes and chinoiseries influenced textile and graphic art across Europe.
