BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Published in France between 1746-1788, after a painting by Hackert.

Biography engraver: Jacques Aliamet (1726-1788) was a French engraver known for landscapes and marine scenes after contemporary artists such as Vernet and Hackert. Active in Paris and a member of the Academie Royale.
Biography artist: Jacob Philipp Hackert (1737-1807) was a German landscape painter known for his detailed, luminous scenes of Italy and France. He served as court painter to the King of Naples.
