Antique print, untitled. Four soldiers (part mounted) in Oriental dress, near a tent beside a large ruin. These prints are made with an unusual process, the mezzotint in dark brown ink is printed over an ochre tinted ground. While sacrificing graphic sharpness, this process created a subtle and delicate tone and charm.Artists and Engravers: Made by Christian Rogendas after Georg Philipp Rugendas. Christian Rugendas (1708-1781) was a German painter and engraver.
Condition: Excellent, given age. Small stains in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
