Published by Jan Steven van Esveldt Holtrop, Amsterdam, 1810. The publication assembles studies after celebrated seventeenth-century masters intended for artistic training. .

Biography engraver: Jan van Almeloveen (1656–1684) was a Dutch etcher, painter and physician from Mijdrecht. He produced numerous landscapes and topographical views, often inspired by the Italianate manner of Nicolaes Berchem. Despite his short life, he left a substantial etched oeuvre highly regarded by collectors.
