Made by ‘Jacobus Houbraken’ after ‘H. Pothoven’. Jacobus Houbraken (1698-1780) was a Dutch engraver, and the son of Arnold Houbraken (who wrote a seminal record of the lives of Dutch artists). Hendrik Pothoven (1725-1795) was a Dutch portrait painter and engraver from Amsterdam. He was a pupil of Philippe van Dyck.
Condition: Good, given age. Light soiling. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
