Description

Subject: Antique print, untitled. Polyphemus and Galatea. The cyclops is seated on rock on the right, holding a pan flute. Galatea is supported by two water nymphs and a dolphin.
Condition: Good, given age. Small tears in top and left margin, backed with contemporary paper, not affecting image. Top and bottom margins a little soiled with some stains. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
Medium: Engraving on hand laid (verge) paper.
Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 28 x 25.5 cm. The image size is ca. 37.5 x 35 cm.
