Condition: Good, given age. Trimmed at or near plate marks. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Medium: Stipple engraving on wove (vellin type) paper.

Description: Published by Hixon. On a thick wove paper, possibly a later impression.

Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘R. Hixon’ after ‘C.B. Cipriani’. Robert Hixon (fl.1794-1817) was a British publisher, printer and printmaker. Giovanni Battista, also named Giuseppe Cipriani RA (1727-1785) was an Italian painter and engraver, who lived in England from 1755. His friend Francesco Bartolozzi engraved many of his designs.
