Biography engraver: M.A. Benoist (active late 18th?early 19th century), French engraver known for his work on architectural and travel illustration plates after Cassas and other contemporaries.
Biography artist: Louis-Francois Cassas (1756-1827), French artist, architect, and antiquarian. His travels through the Levant and Egypt resulted in numerous detailed drawings of ancient and Islamic architecture, published in his Voyage Pittoresque.
