Biography engraver: Maria Catharina Prestel (1747-1794) was a German painter and engraver. A student of Johann Gotthard von Muller and wife of Johann Gottlieb Prestel, she worked in aquatint and stipple, often reproducing works of Dutch and Italian masters.
Biography artist: Thomas Wyck (c.1616-1677) was a Dutch painter known for Italianate landscapes and port scenes. His work often features atmospheric Mediterranean towns and seaports.
