Medium: mezzotint engraving on wove paper.

Sheet size: 68 x 50.5 cm (26.77 x 19.88 inch). Image size: 58 x 47 cm. (22.83 x 18.5 inch).

Condition: very good, given age. Crease in the lower right corner. General light creasing. Margins foxed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Master print published by John Boydell, London in 1797. Our definition of master print is: a seperately published print or series of prints, not being an illustrative print to a text. Artists and Engravers: Engraved by Rich’d Earlom after a design by Farington after Rubens.

Biography engraver: Richard Earlom (1743-1822) was an reknown English mezzotint engraver. He displayed great skill as a draughtsman, and at the same time acquired without assistance the art of engraving in mezzotint.

Biography artist: George Farington (1754-1788) was an English artist.
