Depiction of a ship’s camel or barge that could be used to transport large seagoing vessels over the shoal Pampus near Amsterdam. The letter A shows the ship’s camel in operation.

Biography engraver: Cornelis Jansz Meijer (1629-1701) was a Dutch hydraulic engineer. He worked in Italy, among other places, on the improvement of the drainage of the Tiber. In Italian literature he is called Cornelio Meyer.
