Medium: Mezzotint on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 26 x 42 cm (10.24 x 16.54 inch). Image size: 25.5 x 41.8 cm. (10.04 x 16.46 inch).
Condition: very good, given age. Light creasing, foxing and soiling. Loosely ttached to a carrier sheet. Some saing and dampstaining. Trimmed close to plate mark. Irregular paper edges, with some small tears and paper loss. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: John Smith (1652?1743) was one of the most prominent English mezzotint engravers of the late 17th and early 18th centuries. He worked closely with painters like Sir Godfrey Kneller and Willem Wissing, producing popular prints of aristocracy and royalty.
Biography artist: Willem Wissing (1656?1687) was a Dutch portrait painter active in England, known for painting members of the English nobility. He succeeded Sir Peter Lely and painted in a similar baroque style.
