Biography engraver: Raphael Morghen (1758-1833) was an Italian engraver renowned for his refined interpretations of classical and Renaissance paintings. A favorite of aristocratic patrons, he engraved many masterpieces for wide European distribution.
Biography artist: Teodoro Matteini (1753-1831) was an Italian painter and draughtsman active in Venice and Florence, known for his academic and religious compositions. Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was a Renaissance master celebrated for his innovation in painting, science, and engineering.
