Antique print, untitled. Landscape with washerwomen working in a river near a low wooden church. Two people walking over a bridge in the foreground. Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after Herman van Suanevelt. Herman van Swanevelt (1603-1655) was a Dutch Baroque painter and etcher. His first works date around 1623, and were produced in Paris. He moved to Rome in 1629, where he joined the Italianate Landscape movement. He is seen as one of the first painters to not include biblical and mytholgocal subjects in his paintings.
Condition: Good, given age. Margins cropped to the image edge. A closed hole in the top right corner, creases corners of the image (extending a little into the image). Creases in the left edge (slightly into the image) where restoration work was done (refibred, as visible on verso). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
