Biography engraver: Johann Daniel Heimlich (1740-1796), also known as Jean-Daniel Heimlich, was a Strasbourg-born painter, draftsman, and etcher. His romantic landscapes and detailed engravings are held in collections such as the Musee des beaux-arts de Strasbourg and the Musee historique de Strasbourg.
