State: Extremely rare ed./restrike from original seventeenth-century copperplate. The original etching by Callot is extr. rare as well.

Biography engraver: Francois Collignon (1609-1657).

Biography artist: Jacques Callot (1592–1635) was a French draftsman and printmaker from Nancy, Lorraine. He is regarded as one of the greatest etchers of the seventeenth century, celebrated for his technical innovations, extraordinarily detailed compositions and influential series depicting military life, festivals, landscapes and scenes of everyday rural existence.
