Biography engraver: Jean-Francois Janinet (1752?1814) was a leading French engraver and pioneer in the use of color aquatint, active in Paris. He produced numerous prints after contemporary painters and pastellists, particularly sentimental and genre scenes.
Biography artist: Louis Doublet (active 18th century) was a French pastellist known for charming portraits and genre scenes. His works were frequently reproduced in prints by engravers such as Janinet.
