BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Biography engraver: Jan Collaert II (c.1561-1620) was a prominent Flemish engraver from the Collaert family, known for religious and mythological series after designs by Maarten de Vos.
Biography artist: Maarten de Vos (1532-1603) was a leading Flemish painter and draughtsman of the late 16th century, known for his biblical, historical, and allegorical compositions.
