BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Lithograph published in Utrecht by P.W. van de Weijer after a drawing by W.F. Hoevenaar, circa 1850.
Biography engraver: Petrus Wilhelmus van de Weijer was a nineteenth-century Dutch printer and lithographer active in Utrecht. His workshop produced a variety of illustrated prints and lithographs, often after drawings by contemporary artists and illustrators.
Biography artist: Willem Frederik Hoevenaar (1808-1889) was a Dutch painter, illustrator, and lithographer active in Utrecht. He produced historical scenes, architectural views, and illustrations of Dutch cultural history. His works often depict notable figures from Dutch literature and history in narrative settings.
