BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Original antique master print originates from the so-called Royaal-Bible, a sumptuous Bible edition published by Keur/Doornick & Rotterdam in 1702. This plate has reference to F. de Wit, being the publisher of the individual plates. Our definition of a Master Print is a seperately published print or series of prints, not being an illustrative print to a text. These can both be prints made by old masters (artists) or prints made by others (artists, engravers, etchers) after old masters. Artists and Engravers: By an unknown Dutch or Flemish engraver.
Biography artist: Frederick de Wit (1629-1706) was a famous Amsterdam (carthographic) engraver and artist.
