BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Amsterdam: Jacob Yntema, 1766.

Biography engraver: Jacobus Houbraken (1698-1780) was a prominent Dutch engraver, best known for his finely detailed portraits of historical figures. He collaborated with major Dutch publishers and was highly esteemed for his engraving technique.

Biography artist: Jacobus Buys (1724-1801) was a Dutch painter and illustrator, active in Amsterdam. He contributed designs to prints and book illustrations, often depicting historical or academic subjects.
