Biography engraver: Heinrich Daniel Nether (1760-1819) was a German engraver and pupil of Jean-Pierre Norblin de La Gourdaine. His works often replicated the style of Old Masters such as Rembrandt.
Biography artist: Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669), the Dutch master, is known for his dramatic use of light and shadow, and for his depictions of intimate, genre scenes and historical subjects.
