BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The print was executed by Georg Gaspar von Prenner after a work by Taddeo Zuccari or his circle.

Reference: Italian National Catalog No. 1500344583, Inventory No. IGMN 100952.

Biography engraver: Georg Gaspar von Prenner (1720-1766) was an Austrian engraver and draughtsman active in the 18th century. He worked on reproductions of famous paintings and created historical prints, often based on Renaissance artworks.

Biography artist: Taddeo Zuccari (1529-1556) was an Italian painter of the late Renaissance, known for his frescoes and historical compositions. His influence extended into later centuries through engravings of his works.
