BACKGROUND INFORMATION

From ‘Il Museo Pio-Clementino’, Rome, 1784.

Biography engraver: Camillo Tinti (b. ca. 1738) was an Italian engraver from Rome. He collaborated with Gavin Hamilton and contributed engravings to works such as Schola Italica. Known for refined neoclassical renderings.

Biography artist: Vincenzo Dolcibene (c. 1746-1820) was an Italian painter, draughtsman, and printmaker, known for archaeological drawings used in scholarly publications such as Il Museo Pio Clementino.
