Description
This print shows a view on the Cumaean Sibyl by Rafael, a study for the Sibyls fresco in Santa Maria. The sibyls were prophetesses or oracles in Ancient Greece. The sibyls prophesied at holy sites. We see an old woman turning around her shoulder. A book is resting on her knees and one foot rests on a globe.
