Lettered with names of producers, publication address: ‘a Paris chez Le Bas r?e de la Harpe chez un fayancie a la Rose rouge’, date, title, four verses in French and inscription giving the provenance of the original painting.
Made by Jacques Philippe Le Bas after David Teniers the Younger.
Medium: Etching on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 21.5 x 29.6 cm (8.46 x 11.65 inch). Image size: 20.5 x 28.1 cm. (8.07 x 11.06 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Light soiling. Some remains of paper from previous attacment on the rear right. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: Jacques-Philippe Le Bas, or Lebas (1707-1783) was a French engraver, head of the largest engraving workshop in Paris during the 18th century.
Biography artist: David Teniers the Younger or David Teniers II (1610-1690) was a Flemish Baroque painter, printmaker, draughtsman, miniaturist painter, staffage painter, copyist and art curator. He was an extremely versatile artist known for his prolific output. He was an innovator in a wide range of genres such as history painting, genre painting, landscape painting, portrait and still life. He is now best remembered as the leading Flemish genre painter of his day. Teniers is particularly known for developing the peasant genre, the tavern scene, pictures of collections and scenes with alchemists and physicians.
