Biography engraver: Antoine de Marcenay de Ghuy (1724-1811) was a French publisher/printer, printmaker and painter. He was an etcher who worked in the Rembrandtesque manner. Gerard Dou (or Dow/Douw, 1613-1675) was a Dutch Golden Age painter, specialised in genre scenes and his candle-lit night scenes.
