Henry Carington Bowles II was the son of Carington Bowles I and was born around 1763. Interestingly, in 1818, Bowles built Myddelton House in Enfield. Samuel Carver was the other half of the partnership. The partnership of Bowles & Carver continued the Bowles business at No. 69, St. Paul’s Churchyard, London, where they ran a Map and Print Warehouse, from 1793 to 1832. Together, they met the increasing demand for reproductive images of London and other European cities.
