Antique Master Print, titled: ‘Gostante di fortuna ad ogni evento …’ – A family with two horses in a landscape near a river. A woman crosses the river toward a village in the background. From a series of 12 landscapes, published in Venice by I. Wagner. Joseph (Giuseppe) Wagner (1706-1780) was born In Switzerland and active as engraver in Venice. His prints were famous in their day. Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘F.B.’ after ‘A. Zanetti and F. Zuccarelli’. Francesco Bartolozzi (1725-1815) was a famous Italian engraver known for his refined stipple engraving, whose most productive period was spent in London.
Condition: Very good, given age. Two old folds. Two small closed tears in the margin (extending minimally into the image) backed with contemporary paper and acid free archival tape. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
