Biography engraver: Hendrik Roosing (1763-1826) was a Dutch engraver born in Utrecht and active in Rotterdam. His work encompassed a range of subjects, including landscapes, portraits and nautical scenes. Roosing’s engravings often depicted scenes of daily life, with a focus on details and a delicate touch. His work was popular in his time and is considered a valuable example of Dutch printmaking in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
Biography artist: Jan Antonie Langendijk (1780-1818) was a Dutch aquarellist, etcher, painter, and draftsman, active in Rotterdam (1795-1807), Schleswig (1807-1808), and Amsterdam (1808-1818).
