Biography engraver: Pierre Laurent (1739?1809), French engraver, royal engraver to the King and Queen, and member of the Acad?mie de Peinture de Marseille. Best known for historical and commemorative engravings, including heroic scenes of French military history.
Biography artist: Casanova (1727?1805), Venetian-born painter active in France, specialized in battle and historical scenes. His dramatic depictions of war were widely engraved and circulated in the late 18th century.
