Medium: Etching on wove (vellin) paper.

Condition: good, given age. Brownish. Upper left corner paper loss. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This attractive print was published in 1825.

State: 6th and final state.

Reference: Hollstein D.76.

Biography engraver: Johannes van Vliet, a Dutch artist born around 1610, was an etcher, engraver, draughtsman, and painter. His active period spanned from approximately 1628 to 1637 in Leiden, and in 1632, he visited Antwerp. Notably, he collaborated with the renowned artist Rembrandt during his time in Leiden.
