BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Published by Jean Moyreau, Paris, from a painting in the collection of M. Hallee.

Biography engraver: Jean Moyreau (1690-1762) was a French engraver and publisher. He became royal engraver and published many works after Dutch and Flemish masters.

Biography artist: Philips Wouwerman (1619-1668) was a prominent Dutch Golden Age painter known for his scenes involving horses, hunting, military life, and rural genre scenes.
