Original antique master print, titled: ‘Sunday Morning a Cottage Family going to Church’. It shows: a family (father, mother, grandmother and several children) are heading out to church from their cottage home. Grandmother is seated on a donkey.

Medium: stipple engraving / etching with hand colouring on wove paper.
Sheet size: 60 x 51 cm (23.62 x 20.08 inch). Image size: 57.5 x 50 cm. (22.64 x 19.69 inch).
Condition: very good, given age. Small creases in the bottom margin. Paper loss to top margin. Rear: paper erosion from earlier mounting to carrier. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography artist: William Redmore Bigg (1755-1828) was an English painter. He studied at the Royal Academy under Eward Penny. Bigg’s greatest pleasure lay in painting children. He produced small portraits and rustic genre pieces.
