Original etching on a verge type hand laid paper. on paper.
Size in cm: The overall size is ca. 14 x 19.5 cm. The image size is ca. 12.5 x 18 cm. Size in inch: The overall size is ca. 5.5 x 7.7 inch. The image size is ca. 4.9 x 7.1 inch.
Original engraving, untitled. It shows: three children outside a doorway. One of the boys sits on the ground with a hat full of treats in front of him. The second boy asks the girl seated next to a barrel and a basket to hand him something from the basket. Separately published master print, which is dated 1797 (on plate). Our definition of a Master Print is a seperately published print or series of prints, not being an illustrative print to a text. These can both be prints made by old masters (artists) or prints made by others (artists, engravers, etchers) after old masters.Artists and Engravers: Artist and engraver unclear, to be determined. Etching is signed at right bottom (in plate). Pencil reference on rear: Franz Karl Zoller (Austrian 1747-1829). We appreciate any further input.
Condition: Very good, given age. Two small tears in the top margin (one affecting the top right of the image minimally), closed and backed with acid-free archival tape. A small stain in the right margin, the bottom margin faintly thumbed.
