This scarce original antique print shows a landscape with cattle and sheep being herded.
Made by Johannes Visscher after Nicolaes Berghem.
Medium: Copperplate engraving/etching on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 40.1 x 31.8 cm (15.79 x 12.52 inch). Image size: 34.1 x 24.7 cm. (13.43 x 9.72 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Light creasing in top margins. Some smal tears at top, not effecting the image. Vertical central fold. Small hole at bottom middle. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography artist: Nicolaes Pieterszoon Berchem / Berghem (1620-1683) was a highly esteemed and prolific Dutch Golden Age painter of pastoral landscapes, populated with mythological or biblical figures, but also of a number of allegories and genre pieces.
