Description
Original master print, titled: ‘Le Retour de la Peche’. It shows a boat filled with fishermen and baskets of fish returning from a lake. Among the tall trees surrounding the lake are some men and women fishing still.
Made by William Elliott after Jean-Baptiste Pillement.
Medium: engraving / etching with hand colouring on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 60 x 49 cm (23.62 x 19.29 inch). Image size: 57.5 x 43 cm. (22.64 x 16.93 inch).
Condition: fair, given age. Entire sheet quite browned, original middle fold, edges of the sheet a little ragged, with some paper tape repairs. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
