Description
This print shows Uppland, a historical province on the eastern coast of Sweden, just north of Stockholm.French text on reverse. With figure title-cartouche and ornamental cartouche with great coat-of-arms and the scale of map (“Milliaria Uplandica”).
Made by an anonymous engraver after Johannes Janssonius.
Medium: Engraving with original (old) hand colouring on handlaid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 60 x 50 cm (23.62 x 19.69 inch). Image size: 48.5 x 35.5 cm. (19.09 x 13.98 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Fold as published. Brownish spots in margin. Paperloss in some corners. Reverse upper corners remains of white tape. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
