Made by an anonymous engraver after Spenheim.
Medium: Engraving on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 49.5 x 37.5 cm (19.49 x 14.76 inch). Image size: 47.3 x 33.3 cm. (18.62 x 13.11 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Fold as published. Edges brownish. Brown spots. Some small tears in margins restored. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This attractive print was published in ‘Opera geographiam sacram, (Atlas of religious Geography)’, Leiden 1701-1703.
Biography artist: Spenheim (1632-1701) was one of the most important German geographers and historians of sacred geography and history. From 1672 until his death he was the chief librarian at the University of Leiden. These maps are from his most well-known work.
