This original antique plate shows the First Battle of Zurich, Switzerland on 4 ? 7 June 1799. French general Andre Massena was forced to yield the city to the Austrians under Archduke Charles.

Made by Anonymous after von Rothenburg.

Steel engraving on wove (vellin) paper.

Condition: very good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
