‘TREFFEN BEI SCHLIENGEN, DEN 24. OCTOBER 1796. ‘

This original antique plate shows the Battle of Schliengen in Germany (24 October 1796), the French Army of the Rhine and Moselle under the command of Jean-Victor Moreau and the Austrian army under the command of Archduke Charles of Austria both claimed victories.

Made by Anonymous after von Rothenburg.

Steel engraving on wove (vellin) paper.

Condition: very good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
