Subject: Antique drawing, titled: ”Catuyserinne Non.” – This attractive watercolour drawing in a primitive style represents a Carthusian Nun. The Carthusian Order (Latin: Ordo Cartusiensis), also called the Order of Saint Bruno, is a Catholic religious order of enclosed monastics. The order was founded by Bruno of Cologne in 1084 and includes both monks and nuns.

Condition: Very good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Medium: Watercolour and gouache drawing on wove paper. Watermark: van Gelder (Gothic lettering)
