Provenance: The drawing originates from the collection of artist Francina Schot (1816-1894).

Biography artist: Dirk Langendijk (1748-1805) was a Dutch painter and draftsman, primarily known for his battle scenes and landscapes. He worked in Rotterdam and became known for his detailed and animated depictions of military life during the Napoleonic Wars. He often worked in watercolors and ink.
